ETA system measures the Young’s modulus and damping loss factor of elastic or viscoelastic materials based on ASTM E756-05 standard (Oberst beam test technique). It can be used for quality control as well as for simulation purposes.

The test bench is robust and allows to rigidly embed a beam.

 

The embedding system is easy to use to test several beams in a short time.

The acquisition system connects to a computer with a USB cable, and to the test bench with temperature resistant wires.

The magnetic sensor can slide along its axis with a view to test single or multilayered beams of various thicknesses. 

The magnetic exciter can slide along its axis with a view to test single or multilayered beams of various lengths.

ETA system includes:

  • Stainless steel frame

  • DAQ system with integrated amplifier

  • Starter kit (5 aluminum beams, 5 steel beams and 10 pairs of roots).

  • Magnetic exciter

  • Magnetic position sensor

The ETA-X software fully controls the measurement of a reference beam followed by the measurement of a treated beam as per ASTM E756-05 standard.
